Cost: $75 (Includes course materials, 1st year membership in County & State Beekeeping Associations, written/practical exams to become a NC Certified beekeeper, and mentoring throughout the year in the OCBA apiary.)

Application: 2026 Beginners Short Course Application.  To register, turn in completed application and fee using one of three options:

• At the next OCBA Meeting (Jan. 13th from 7-9pm) at NC Farm Bureau Insurance 3965 Richlands Hwy., Jacksonville

• OR register in person at the Onslow Co Cooperative Extension located  at 234 NW Corridor Blvd., Suite 108, Jacksonville, NC  between the hours of 8am-5pm (office closed 1/19/2026

This course is offered yearly and is taught by NCSBA Certified beekeepers with years of valuable experience. It is designed to prepare you for the written & hands-on practical portion to become a NCSBA Certified Beekeeper.
